One Torah-law for All People for All Time!
by Natan Lawrence

~ scriptures are from the Hebraic Roots Bible, and HBR Bible Notes in italics.
(all scriptures listed below in order of mention)

Exodus 12: 49, One law. (Other “one law” passages include Lev 24:22; Num 9:14; 15:16, 29.).
The context of this verse regards the observance of Passover (also Num 9:14).
There was to be only one law pertaining to the observance of the Passover for both the native Israelite and for the stranger who sojourns with the Israelite. Leviticus 24:22 says that there is one law for the Israelite and the stranger in the areas of blasphemy, murder, slaying another man’s animal, and harming one’s neighbor in any way. Pertaining to the law about the various offerings for sin (i.e, despising the instructions or Torah of Elohim, verse 31), Numbers 15:15–16 and 29 states there is one law for both the Israelite and the sojourner forever throughout their generations.

Some will say that these “one Torah for everyone” passages pertain only to the specific Torah laws mentioned in these passages.
In numerous places, Israel was to take the Torah (the whole Torah) to the nations of the world, not just parts of the Torah. (e.g., Deut 4:6–8; Isa 60:1–3; Zech 8:22–23; Matt 28:18–20; Luke 24:47).

Moreover, during the Messianic Age, the Torah will go forth to all the nations (Isa 2:3; Mic 4:2).
What’s more, there are numerous places in the Testimony of Yeshua that speak of Torah as the standard of righteousness for all believers for all time (e.g., Matt 5:17–19; John 14:15; Rom 3:31; 7:12, 14, 22; 1 John 2:3–6; 3:4; Rev 14:12, 22:14). Hundreds of more citations could be added to this list from the apostolic writings alone!

So the Torah was not for Israel only, but ultimately was to be for all the peoples of the earth. This includes you and me.

Scriptures listed in order of mention
Exo 12:49 One law shall be to the native, and to the visitor, the one staying in your midst.

Lev 24:22 One judgment shall be for you whether an alien or a native; for I amYAHWEH your Elohim.

Num 9:14 And if an alien shall reside with you, and desires to keep the Passover toYAHWEH; he shall do according to the statute of the Passover, and according to its ordinance. You shall have one statute, both for the alien and for the native of the land†.

~ Numbers 9:14 There is one law for both Israelites and Gentiles who have been grafted into the one tree of Israel. Later rabbis developed what they call Noahide laws for Gentiles that are not found in scripture, but only in their oral tradition.

Num 15:16 There shall be one law and one ordinance both for you and for the alien that lives with you.

Num 15:29 both the native among the sons of Israel, and the alien that lives among them; one law shall be to you for him who acts in error.

Deu 4:6-8 and you shall keep and do them, for it shall be your wisdom and your understanding before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these statutes. And they shall say, This great nation is a people wise and understanding†.
For who is a great nation whose Elohim is coming near to them, asYAHWEH your Elohim is, in all our calling on Him?
And who is a great nation whose statutes and judgments are as righteous as all the Torah, which I set before you today†?

Isa 60:1-3 Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of YAHWEH has risen on you†!
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples. But YAHWEH shall rise on you, and His glory shall be seen on you.
And nations shall walk to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawning.

Zec 8:22-23 And many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek YAHWEH of Hosts in Jerusalem, and to seek the favor of the face of YAHWEH†.
So says YAHWEH of Hosts: In those days ten men out of all languages of the nations shall take hold, and will seize the wing of the garment of a man, a Jew, saying, Let us go with you, for we have heard that Elohim is with you.

Mat 28:18-20 And coming up Yahshua talked with them, saying, All authority in Heaven and on earth was given to Me.
Then having gone, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name† of the Father and of the Son,
and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age. Amen.

Luk 24:47 And repentance and remission of sins must be preached on His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Isa 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come and let us go up to the mount of YAHWEH, to the house of the Elohim of Jacob. And He will teach from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion the Torah will go forth, and the Word ofYAHWEH from Jerusalem†.

Mic 4:2 And many nations shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of YAHWEH, and to the house of the Elohim of Jacob. And He will teach us from His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For the Torah shall go forth out of Zion, and the Word of YAHWEH from Jerusalem†.

Mat 5:17-19 Do not think that I came to annul the Torah or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill†.
Truly I say to you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, in no way shall one yod or one stroke pass away from the Torah until all comes to pass.
Therefore, whoever loosens one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the worst in the kingdom of Heaven†. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven.

Joh 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments†.

Rom 3:31 Do we then nullify the Torah by faith? Far be it. On the contrary, we establish the Torah†!

~ Romans 3:31 In all of Paul's epistles the argument is never whether one should obey the Torah. The argument is how do we get justified before YHWH? Is it through the sacrificial system with ceremonial functions or is it strictly through the blood of Yahshua? The Torah sanctifies a believer after he is justified and teaches him right from wrong, Psa 119:105. Obedience is the evidence of one's faith.

Rom 7:12 So indeed the Torah is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good†.

~ Romans 7:12 The problem was never with the perfect Torah of Yahweh, but the inability of the people to keep it, (Heb 8:8) as it can teach you right from wrong but it doesn't change the heart; only the Holy Spirit can do this.

Rom 7:14 For we know that the Torah is spiritual, but I am fleshly, having been sold under sin.

Rom 7:22 For I delight in the Torah of Elohim according to the inward man;

1Jn 2:3-6 And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commandments.
The one saying, I have known Him, and not keeping His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in that one†.
But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of YAHWEH has been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.
The one claiming to rest in Him, ought to walk, himself, even as He walked†.

~ 1 John 2:6 The Aramaic word used here for walk is “halach” which literally means “to go” or the way one should go, in which Rabbis get the term “halacha”, which is the way to go that is required to perform in order to be considered a disciple. Clearly part of that way included the Sabbath day, the Passover and feast days of Leviticus 23 and the whole Torah, excluding the Levitical law that was added (Gal 3:19). The clear message is that any true disciple of Yahshua needs to do the same things that He did, which was being fully Torah observant. Doing away with the Torah and commandments is not an option for a true believer in Messiah and is a litmus test to divide between a true disciple and one in name only. (Mat 7:20-23, Isa 8:20)

1Jn 3:4 Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is the breaking of the Torah†.

~ 1 John 3:4 Sin is clearly defined as the breaking of the Torah. The Christian argument against keeping the Torah is extremely weak and non-biblical as if there is no Torah, then there would be no sin, and then why would someone need a savior? It is utterly evil to preach a lawless message of salvation. (Mat 7:21-23, Isa 8:20, Pro 28:9, Rev 14:12)

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are the ones keeping the commandments of YAHWEH, and the faith of Yahshua.†

Rev 22:14 Blessed are the ones doing His commandments, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and that they may enter by the gates into the city.
