Being Part of the House of Israel - YAHWEH's People.

~ scriptures are from the Hebraic Roots Bible, and HBR Bible Notes in italics.

People could actually become Israelites.
(all scriptures listed in right column in order of mention).
One of these persons is a very well-known Old Testament character, Caleb, who was one of the two spies sent by Moses to spy out the land of Palestine, who trusted in the Lord and urged Israel to attack. The Bible consistently calls him a Kenizzite (Josh. 14:6), and we know they were one of the clans of Edom (Gen. 36:1, 11). We also read passages like 1 Chronicles 2:55 (the Kenites were a Midianite tribe [Num. 10:29; Judg. 1:16]). The significant thing about Caleb and these Kenites is that they were connected to tribes of Israel. Caleb was even a leader of a tribe. Hence, they had fully joined Israel, even to the point of being placed in a particular tribe.

Further, Israel had specific policies which would encourage aliens to come to them.
Note particularly Deuteronomy 23:15-16. (Harboring refugees is a good biblical practice.) So Israel, rather than being closed to evangelism or to outsiders, as is often the impression, had an open door to those who came to Israel for refuge or who wanted to become Israelites.

We are also told what anybody who wanted to become an Israelite had to do, and the intriguing thing is that the whole matter comes up in the discussion of the Passover. It is not in Leviticus or Deuteronomy, after the Israelites have left Egypt and are looking forward to Canaan, that they receive all sorts of detailed instructions. Rather, it comes up in the first Passover. When the Scripture is saying that this is the crucial feast for Israel--when Israel will remember its roots, the most significant event in the whole history of Israel as a nation of peoples.

What is the connection between our own education of those within, and our bringing in the outsider?
The whole point of the Passover was to remind Israel of their roots.
Remember the emphasis: Your son will ask, "Why are we doing these things?"
And you will say, "Because something special happened to us. We are the people whom the Lord redeemed by sacrificing the blood of the Passover lamb, when all the firstborn of Egypt were killed."

This was a covenant ceremony , emphasizing the faithfulness of God to his covenant promises. It was about the redemption which established a distinctive covenant community. It was a means to instruct the youth in what the covenant was all about.

David puts that sense of unique privilege so well in 2 Samuel 7:22-24. Israel, and Israel alone, are the nation that God went to redeem.

2Sa 7:22-24 For this reason, O YAHWEH Elohim, You are great; for there is none like You; and there is no Elohim except You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. And who is like Your people, like Israel, the one (echad) nation in the earth that Elohim went out to redeem to be a people for Themselves, and to make Themselves a name, and to do for You great and fearful things for Your land, before Your people which You redeemed to Yourself from Egypt, from nations and their Elohims?
Yea, You have established Your people Israel to Yourself, to You for a people forever. And You, O YAHWEH have become to them for Elohim.

added note : ~ anyone who eats of the Passover must be “in the covenant relationship.”
Since Circumcision is the sign of the 1st covenant it stands to reason one would have had to be circumcised before partaking of the meal.
However, since baptism "in the name of Yahshua Messiah only" is the sign of the New Covenant,
one would have to be baptized to partake of the Passover symbols of the bread and wine in the New Covenant.

Institution of the Passover
Exo 12:14 And the day shall be a memorial for you. And you shall celebrate it as a feast to YAHWEH, for your generations. You shall celebrate it as a law forever.

~ Exodus 12:14
The day of Passover shall be celebrated forever. However, YHWH has the prerogative to change the symbols of the Passover as He did in the New Covenant using bread and wine to symbolize the slain blood of the Lamb of Yah.

Exo 12:16-20 And on the first day shall be a holy assembly, and in the seventh day a holy assembly, shall be to you. Not any work may be done on them. Only what must be eaten by each soul that alone may be done by you. And you shall observe the unleavened bread for on this very day I brought out your armies from the land of Egypt. And you shall observe this day for your generations, a statute forever.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at evening you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month, at evening.
For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses. For anyone eatingany leaven, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, among the foreigners, and among the natives of the land.
You shall not eat anything leaven. You shall eat unleavened bread in all your dwellings.

Exo 12:24 And you shall observe this Word for an ordinance for you, and for your sons forever.

Exo 12:43-50 And YAHWEH said to Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover. No heathen may eat of it. And every man's slave, a purchase of silver, you shall circumcise him, then he may eat of it. A foreigner and a hired servant may not eat of it.
It shall be eaten in one house. You shall not carry any of the flesh outside from the house. And you shall not break a bone in it. All the congregation of Israel shall prepare it.
And when a visitor shall stay with you, and will do the Passover to YAHWEH, let every male to him be cir-cumcised, (in covenant relationship) and then he may come near to prepare it. And he shall be like a native of the land. But any uncircumcised (non-covenant person) may not eat of it.
One law shall be to the native, and to the visitor, the one staying in your midst.
And all the sons of Israel did as YAHWEH commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did.

~ Exodus 12:48
Circumcision is not the issue here in this verse but rather that anyone who eats of the Passover must be “in covenant relationship.” Since Circumcision is the sign of the 1st covenant it stands to reason one would have had to be circumcised before partaking of the meal. However, since baptism is the sign of the New Covenant and not circumcision one would not have to be circumcised to partake of the Passover symbols of the bread and wine in the New Covenant, but they would have to be baptized into the covenant by an elder of YHWH.

~ Exodus 12:49
Num 15:15 As for the congregation, there shall be one statute both for you and for the alien that lives with you, a never ending statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the alien be before YAHWEH.

Exo 13:9-10 And it shall be for a sign to you on your hand, and a memorial between your eyes, so that the Torah of YAHWEH may be in your mouth. For with a strong hand YAHWEH brought you out from Egypt. And you shall keep this ordinance at its appointed time, from year to year.

~ Exodus 13:9 The mark of the anti-messiah (Rev 13:16) is also in the right hand and fore-head and this is symbolic of “you think with your mind and do with your hands”. Also, the right hand in the Hebrew thought is the hand of strength. The word for right is “Yamin' in Hebrew and that is why when Rachel died Jacob changed the name of the child from Ben-omi “son of my sorrow” to Ben-yamin “son of my strength”. Pro 7:3, Deu 11:18

~ Exodus 13:10 The appointed time to keep the Passover is on the 14th day of the first month Aviv, according to the biblical calendar. There is no biblical precedent for taking the Passover symbols of the bread and wine weekly, or monthly, that came into practice by Catholicism almost a hundred yrs after the resurrection of Yahshua by a Catholic bishop, but the instruction by Yahshua was to celebrate His death once a yr on the 14 of Aviv, 1Co 11:23-26, Luk 22:19-20.

Num 15:15 As for the congregation, there shall be one statute both for you and for the alien that lives with you, a never ending statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the alien be before YAHWEH.

~ Numbers 15:15
There are not separate laws for Israelites and Gentiles grafted into Israel, but one Torah for everyone..
